I am taking forward two many year brewing projects - merely 'messaging' on two fundamental linked matters in wider society, but for me 22 years full time trying to improve the thus far inadequate messaging.
1. get my two books out of simonclayton2020.com how to change impossible-to-change laws 2003-9 (i was offered a book contract 2006 but had to parent the famous Estelle, first, rather than get paid for my by then 3 years public efforts) ; then book 2 the last 15 years. A bit dull but necessary. On how it is essential to do whatever necessary to maintain 'attachment's with kids as i have done even if failed - so much nowadays focusing on so many children with no decent role models. (leads us to the awful Andrew Tate for example)...and sad but true so many men - supposed 'fathers', and even mothers nowadays, fail in... me, 25 years no matter what even as a damaged ghost in parallel with (this - just on eco) every second of my life is always with in the backgrounds what may assist my child's existence... either working on that attachment or working on her 'environment' further afield. 2. GET THIS OUT ..now.. THE only focus, last gasp.... but more artfully than i previously began - and i seek cowriters - we should form a group... just a few of us on the same page. A small team... or supporters. No one has ever subbed me a dime... or extremely rarely. (in fact the only one ever has been christian Greg a few hundred over the years)

This is only on operation 'Candida'
And let's be clear about one thing, especially: the last few years tyranny of the bumper sticker or even t-shirt stating "positive vibes only" doesn't work...
IS entirely infantilising, and part of the fluency in merely effluence which became the real problem. Grownups can handle the actual bad smell and even worse 'vibrations' - that are reality.
Candida is a shared workpage with a few of my allies ONLY to share thoughts and motivating material with others as we as a loose team try and put out creative material only on future environmentalism.
(which is largely a matter of use less, less is more... but it has to explain WHY it is 'more' - in my many year meanders i meet so many middle aged people especially women who say they wish to "simplify" - but how and why.... that's the key...and i knew few find the real one. That needs turning into material to encourage others - i am expert at that if nothing else)
It is an 'offshoot' - the only one i work with others on, on my long planned 2 books of autobiography - gosh i hate that word, gonzoish memoir - bittersweet, full of unexpected twists and turns. Candide by Voltaire a rather charming wise critique of naive optimism... but one likes the characters in that original work. They became worldwide useful lexicon, also.
NOT to be only unoptimistic - the point of this 'project' is to inculcate life affirming fighting spirit! Via a better collection of influential culture. However (see below) by a whole range of real-world measures the environment remains inexorably under threat of worse and worse permanent damage. ALL 'initiatives' or messaging over the last 50 years has in fact FAILED. (to reach more of the 'masses').
For example in the last few weeks: lowest ever recorded butterfly numbers last year has been publicised, and a major new study finds the seas of the South Coast of the UK have many toxins (to nature) - from pharmacy products to toxic animal products. And that's before we take in that even at the southern most tip of Cornwall the bees collect microplastic that is mixed into the fine 'organic' honey sold in luxury 'foodie' and 'wellness' centres.

..Now it's time to really grow up and cut the crap.... get real about a few realities... one is that ONLY women have the voice in or can be 'heroes' of contemporary society. So...: Candida...

Which it won't be called.
"Candida" is a personal wry take on one of various stories connected with the 'environment' I have endured for decades. A shortcut word to perhaps keep the umbrella ethos in mind. (and this page an INVITATION to be part - its cloaked meaning you only can read it if i send you the URL)
It is also about the 101st 'manifesto' of sorts i have written in 20 years aimed at specifically energising or simply keeping on the same page - as egomaniacs off on endless tangents is the ,main reason the eco movement fails.... just a few of us who really DO mean it and may spend time on this one last project... which i know is the only hope.
However as I am on 101 i am stale and ... not exactly of good heart_ in the endless repetition of the same key points for a decade FULL TIME on eco lobbying/messaging.... each time trying to make them readable and just maybe work... all on for 15 years the almost no electricity of a cavedweller living aside... always broken laptops and not a moment spare to even ponder grammar of check the spelling....it is first rough draft... typed non stop with no aforethought...just see what happens.
This one stand alone page is merely a worksheet to direct one or other - there won't be many, true believers who may participate in this one last ditch attempt on environmental messaging.
That sounds dull.... ditchwater is.
Candida above all MUST be alive and engaging. Piety and EArnestness does not work.
THis is not a new project but last gasp attempt at herding a 'collective' of a few of us - some i have longtime been grooming and harassing into this, to DO it now and form a loose collective or even 'production company' or we could even call it an 'agency'... to go full steal ahead only focusing on any creative work that might assist in the cause as i describe below.

He was the only real father I had. I spent every day with him after school or in the school holidays. He was a true oldschool man of nature - meaning he knew, and taught me well, that everything in nature is connected...

He taught me well.
Shame he wasn't around or in charge of the 'Green' movement the last few decades as i do believe on one particular aspect of 'messaging' (ALL that matters! modern humanity is just PR) unfortunately a wrong turn was taken - innocently, but with such rocky ground en route.
" global warming" or climate change or whatever other words are forefront, in my opinion should have been at outset rather spun into something which focus on all 'pollution'. The last 50 or so years where the RATE OF CHAGE of Co2 in the atmposphere is one of many previously unknown accelerated rates of change that nature will adapt to but in such rapid change many species will suffer.
An example is that various forms of life even evolved to live in sulphuric acid rich environments. - google "animals that tolerate sulphuric acid" ...
But of course that took millions maybe even billions of years. Nature eventually adapts to almost any environment. It is the rate of change the last 100 or so years that is like never before and already HAS resulted in so many near or total extinctions.
But.. the sort of mainly men who became of the land - usually 'hunting shooting fishing' for sport... and they often own the land - and 3/4 of political power, too... never mind most of industry (with its massive lobbying power) rather like their show off four wheel drives...
I know as my absurd father - a sad man playing country squire for attention, had one of the first Range Rovers in the land.
To the H.F.S. brigade " global warming" means only one thing: the lefties want to put our lifeblood diesel up to a hundred quid a gallon. Or outright ban us. Poor victim-us !!
Had the 'message' been one far more inclusive of all pollutants, especially those that end up in once pristine salmon streams or one of how even the grouse probably have a dusting of microplastic within their poor little lungs as they take their last gasp of...lead pellets (hunters still use despite a voluntary ban!) then maybe they - the 4wd addicts ..may not have fought back so viciously - UK may well have a FArrage as PM in a few years - their darling bought and paid for ... almost exclusively before anything else to enshrine their forever right to roam.... the moors in fancy 4wds.... no matter what

i have meandered the 'chatteratti' or simply put the middle classes with money (usually from the South) time and space in their lives to read - even if what became THE problem, The Guardian... they colonised places like Hay-on-Wye ... often only part time in 'second homes' ..
Suggesting to them the following as i have done MANY times the last 7 or 8 years ... they simply do not have the capacity to think any more and immediately retaliate with stabs.. being English of course the thrusting glove of vintage Laura Ashley and a painted on impermeable smile..

I went ALL the way myself when my only child was created 27 years ago: i was the only professiponal pilot ever to hand back a professional license - i had used to even be based flying the 'jet set'in and out of St Barts in the West Indies - the ultimate freebird job...
Nope when my lass was on the cards... stop, its not compatible with her future. Period. And i never went near a small (relatively high fuel consumption per passenger) aircraft ever again. That had been my living 18 years. A vainglorious pathetic act of... be the change - utterly irrelevant as for my past job there were thousands waiting to fill the Kingair's left seat... for free, there was such demand to be that kind of pilot....except...as symbol.
All i have learned in 27 years since then is that the green 'messaging' of this century simply has been elitist and ineffective. And as for focusing on dead tribes in The Amazon i know full well that as soon as they see a smartphone which will tell them the weather next week a bit more accurately than 'indigenous' knowledge... most of them are off! ... never mind get hooked on big Macs... (as i actually LIVED through seeing in several so called developing nations)
And no sportswear clad 4wd (SUV if usa) driving (and obsessively every other day soapsud shining) mal shopping... ordinary person is ever going to listen to anything saying lets ghet caveman again...
The ONLY way is to somehow show (in more 'mainstream' culture) that less really really IS a hell of a lot MORE ...and even makes you sexier.. freer.. funnier... healthier...

Candide……sort of came down into the ‘world’ - as I did from around 2005 as single parent with a daughter living like Heidi – for real in the hills of The Black Mountains… and found that 97% of babes (and some men too in fact the worst culprit a man running an eco retreat we all had to deal with a lot) IN the ‘environment’ – living in rural regions……who had colonised places like Hay-on-wye…. Some runaway ‘goody goodies’ from Glastonbury etc….
. Were not ‘INNOCENT’ at all… and right selfish-dodgy though often very subtly it would take months to suss…
I have no chip on my shoulder its merely fact that over 20 years me DOIng real important eco protection work looking for allies eg for 2 years living with a totally dedicated young green woman as housemate and she stepped forward to be Green party council candidate… who was destroyed by them (greens – mainly women) as they were jealous of her… time and time again one found the same comic patterns you couldn’t make up !! that only thwarted all important eco work (why the river wye went toxic)
It’s a story – the patterns… long I know needs some airing out in the culture…

I have various many-year ongoing ‘creative’ projects.
Art: essays, novellas, full books, millions of social commentary photos and zigabytes of chronicling film over 20 years (my MAIN interest the utter disaster of pretend environmentalists many I knew longterm in person); 100s of chronicler notebooks.
ALL are about 2 interconnected themes, both for you (or in fact my grandEsti if s/he ever exists, and I am even told…)
1. Better healthy psychological environments for kids in UK (it is 10x healthier in EU where much of my life has always been - if not in person my heart always there)
meaning anything that reduces angst universally for any kid …
2. Eco disaster … item 1 is connected because ONLY “psychologically robust” young adults – age from 25-35, CAN indeed do the REAL (political) very hard tough risky work to save the environment . Period. The two matters are indeed one…
BY 29 April 2025 there is a plan. I have several wonderful longterm ally women who agree and will attempt also to be part of this. Three in fact (but they are from age 40 up to 65 and have distractions and intrusions into their lives – may not find the creative space to create what is needed):
Project: A chap who is seriously connected top level of film industry is going to Cannes film festival. His purpose find the second half of 30 million quid to get going the movie he has written with my close trusted wonderful friend. They have 15 mil pledged and need 15 more. Its serious big budget stuff. Aimed at kids sort of far more groovy Bella Potter and her dragons… it will happen it just comes down to is it the 15 mil budget or 30 mil budget version…
You can watch in this very good movie what happens at Cannes: bullshit grift hustle. It’s a great funny movie.

There needs to be something in books or culture that your gen can say “ yes like in that great funny movie we saW LAST WEEK… WE GOTTA GO ALL THE WAY NOW…”
And what we really (me and my gang) should do and may do is quickly set up a ‘collective’ of a few of us – utterly informal, fake it til you make it… we will call a ‘production company’…. to in fact grift out film ideas as above…
Anyone can call themselves a ‘production company’ it’s the ultimate bullshit hustle…..sometimes it works.
You can be boss of it if you want….
Especially as we are all a bit old fart, (except Queen Yasmin ) and sick to death of internet social media which needs to be used a bit to roll out such a project…
Or at least a new fresh email account and simple webpage …
